About

Beanermunky Chocolate was started in the Fall of 2005 by Lori Eisenberger, Chocolatier. Our first location was in the historic Hamilton Farmers’ Market, and in the fall of 2011 we moved to downtown Dundas. Our newest location is in downtown Waterdown which opened October of 2015. At both locations, our chocolates and confections are made onsite and you can watch our Chocolatiers at work through the large viewing windows. At our Waterdown location, we offer Chocolate Workshops and Events including Tasting and Pairing nights.

The name “Beanermunky” was created by combining the childhood nicknames of Lori’s two sons:
Jacob – “Beaner” and Mathew – “Munky”.

Beanermunky’s chocolates are fork-dipped in small batches using the highest quality ingredients and flavourings. Our artisan chocolates contain no additives or preservatives and every step of the process is done by hand. We enrobe our chocolates in a high cocoa Belgian Milk Chocolate (34%) and a Belgian Dark Chocolate (70%). Our Belgian White Chocolate has a smooth buttery taste.

Beanermunky Chocolate only uses chocolate from suppliers that are members of the World Cocoa Foundation and also contributes to this organization annually. We are also a member of Retail Confectioners International as well as the Fine Chocolate Industry Association.

Let Beanermunky Chocolate create unique and memorable favours for your wedding, anniversary, shower, birthday, or dinner party!’

WCF

Beanermunky Chocolate contributes to the World Cocoa Foundation annually and uses cocoa products from producers that are member companies of the WCF. The World Cocoa Foundation supports cocoa farmers and their families worldwide. Their programs raise farmer incomes, encourages responsible, sustainable cocoa farming and strengthens communities.

Workshops and Events

All workshops and events are held at our 17 Main St South Waterdown location. Kitchen workshops require the ability to stand for 2 hours. We supply aprons, hats, shoe covers and all tools and ingredients. Our tasting events are seated for 2 hours and we should note for anyone with allergies, we use tree nuts, peanuts, dairy and gluten in the shop. We respectfully ask that guests do not wear strong scents as this affects our tasting ability and overpowers the chocolate aromas. Call our Waterdown shop at 289-895-8861 for more info on our workshops and events.

Kids in the Kitchen

This 2 hour class with Master Chocolatier Lori and Chocolatier Brittany will teach kids where chocolate comes from and how its made. Then we suit up for the kitchen and learn how to mold, pipe, dip and decorate chocolate. Suitable for kids aged 7 to 12. Please note: we use peanuts, tree nuts, gluten and dairy in our kitchen. An Epipen is onsite.

Wine and Chocolate Pairing

Join Master Chocolatier Lori, Chocolatier Brittany and our guest Sommelier Peter Kline of Bacchus Sommelier Services for a decadent night of wine and chocolate. You learn about “complementary” and “contrasting” pairing as well as pairing with beer and spirits. This is a 2 hour, seated event and guests must be 19 years of age or older to attend.
